The game was marked by an apparent foul on Rafael Nel in the penalty area.
Two weeks later, the verdict arrives. The controversial incident between Rafael Nel (Sporting) and Devenish (AVS) during Sporting’s away game in Vila das Aves on April 27th had consequences in the assessment of the Arbitration Council (CA) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
The organization released on Tuesday the assessments of the 31st round, as well as the postponed match from the 26th round between Casa Pia and Sp. Braga. The incident occurred at 45+1m of the first half, with Rafael Nel falling in the penalty area after a challenge with the Aves defender.
Referee Pedro Ramalho, after being advised by VAR, reviewed the images but did not consider there to be a foul (and cited the wrong player’s shirt number). Therefore, the CA (Arbitration Council) considered the refereeing unsatisfactory and Joao Casegas’s video refereeing very satisfactory.
Regarding the games of the other ‘big’ teams, the refereeing was positive.
