The 18-year-old midfielder has already been training under Farioli and is seen by Mora as the best player in the club’s youth academy.

FC Porto announced on Monday the contract renewal with Tiago Silva.

The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a new contract, valid for the next five and a half seasons, that is, until June 30, 2031.

Tiago Silva, who has been linked to FC Porto since he was seven years old and has already been labeled by Rodrigo Mora as the best player in Porto’s youth academy, has been splitting his playing time this season between the youth team and the B team. In the Second League, the midfielder has scored one goal in 10 games. In the under-19s, he has six goals in 18 matches.

Furthermore, Tiago Silva has already been called up to train with the first team.

“I have many good memories at this club. I am eternally grateful for everything I achieved at FC Porto. Perhaps I would choose the recent call-up to the first team for the game in Braga. Even though I was in the stands, the fact of being with the team and being able to experience moments like that, being among the fans, being with the players and really feeling what goes on inside that locker room… For me, that’s what marked me the most,” confessed the young midfielder, in statements to the club’s media.

“It’s a huge demand to train with the first team, but I’ve been taking full advantage of it. Coach Farioli has helped me a lot, he gives me a lot of advice and I feel ready to give a good response. (…) I would like to be a player recognized by everyone at FC Porto. That is my biggest dream,” he concluded.
