Benfica loaned more players to the national team and receives more than half of the value.

UEFA will distribute nine million euros to clubs that have loaned players to the 2025 Women’s European Football Championship, in a package that also includes the clubs that developed the players, the organization announced.

In a statement released on Friday, UEFA explained that this amount is double what was distributed at Euro 2022 and will impact 103 clubs across Europe.

This amount rewards both elite and amateur clubs whose players were part of the national teams that competed in the tournament, in recognition of the essential role played by clubs at all levels in the development of female football players and in supporting the success of national teams,” the statement reads.

Of that total, 344,000 euros will be given to the four Portuguese teams that had players in the competition.

Five-time champion Benfica will receive the most, with 200,385 euros, more than double that of rival Sporting (91,980), while Sp. Braga (30,660) and Torreense (21,900) are the other clubs to be reimbursed.

Euro 2025 took place in Switzerland and was won by England, who beat Spain in the final in Basel, in a penalty shootout (3-1), after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Portugal competed in the final stage for the third consecutive time, but once again, was eliminated in the group stage.
