Besiktas confirmed that Jota Silva has injured the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
The Portuguese forward had to be substituted at half-time in Istanbul’s home draw against Gaziantep, and the medical report released on Tuesday confirmed the bad news.
Besiktas did not disclose the injury recovery time, which, in the best-case scenario, assuming there is no rupture (in this case, Jota Silva was hit by an opponent), requires a recovery period of at least two weeks.
Rafa Silva, who has been out of competition for over a month, returned to training a few days ago and appeared at the training session covered from head to toe and wearing balaclavas.
Besiktas returns to competition on December 14 against Trabzonspor.
