César Peixoto, Gil Vicente’s coach, previews the match against Rio Ave, on Saturday (6:00 PM) , for the 15th round of the League:
“I’m confident, very confident even. In the last game, even though we didn’t win, we controlled every moment and returned to being the Gil Vicente we are. We lacked a goal to break the deadlock, to be more effective in the decisive moments, but we played away from home like a big team. We’re back on track.
Pablo has already been training with the team, but still in a limited way. There needs to be some management here, but he’s a player who will now be in our plans.
“André Luiz is also a very dangerous player in transitions, in one-on-one situations. They have Clayton, Olinho, and a number of other good players. Rio Ave is a good team, but our game plan will still be there. We’re not going to change anything major, just a few things that will be strategically adjusted depending on the opponent.
“They are two important players for us, who have played in practically every game, but we have solutions within the squad. Espigares has come in very well, he’s already played two games in a row, and Marvin [Elimbi] has recovered. On the left, we have Mutombo injured, but Hevertton trained in that position and is ready. The team will be competitive. Not in exactly the same way, but I’m not one to make excuses.
