Coventry is back in the Premier League, 25 years later.

Coventry drew 1-1 against Blackburn in a Championship matchday 43 game, securing promotion to the Premier League after 25 years.

Frank Lampard’s team only needed one point to secure promotion, as they were the clear leaders by a wide margin. However, Blackburn, with Yuri Ribeiro in the starting lineup for the home side, took the lead in the 54th minute with a goal from Morishita.

The dream of returning to the Premier League remained alive for the away team, and in the 84th minute, Bobby Thomas, assisted by Torp, restored parity with a goal that felt like a victory. Until the final whistle, Coventry held on to the draw and, in the end, celebrated.

With this result, Coventry is the clear leader of the Championship, securing promotion to the top tier of English football. It’s also worth noting that Lampard’s team was one of the teams that participated in the first edition of the Premier League (1992/93).
