Mamelodi Sundowns, coached by Miguel Cardoso, won the African Champions League after drawing 1-1 with Moroccan side FAR Rabat.
The Moroccan team, coached by fellow Portuguese Alexandre Santos, took the lead after a penalty converted by Mohamed Hrimat in the 40th minute, only to see Mamelodi equalize before halftime through Teboho Mokoena. With a one-goal advantage from the first leg played in Pretoria, the title was thus awarded to the South African club, which had Nuno Santos in its starting eleven.
This was Mamelodi Sundowns’ second consecutive final and the third for the Portuguese coach, who lost it to Al-Ahly in the 2023/24 season while managing Esperance de Tunis.
