Braga eliminate Sporting, while Benfica overturned a comeback victory against FC Porto at the Dragão Arena and force a tie.

Sp. Braga secured their place in the final of the national women’s volleyball championship after beating Sporting 3-1, finishing the series 3-0.

The Minho team, second=placed in the regular season, confirmed their superiority in the tie with scores of 25-23, 25-21, 15-25 and 25-10, after having already won the two previous matches (3-2 at home and 3-1 away). Last season’s runners-up thus secure another appearance in the title decider.

In the other semi=final, Benfica took the lead (2-1) against FC Porto, winning 3-2 away, forcing a decisive match in the tie for a place in the final.

At Dragão Arena, the Eagles were down 0-2 after scores of 25-17 and 25-18, but rallied to win 25-19 and 25-23 to tie the match, before closing out the game with a 15-9 victory in the decisive set. Benfica are now one win away from the final, where Arsenal are already waiting .
