The club appealed, however the Portuguese coach had his suspension slightly reduced.

The Supreme Court of Sports Justice reduced Abel Ferreira’s eight-match ban by one game; however, Palmeiras criticized the decision for the small reduction in punishment.

Anderson Barros, the club’s president, expressed his outrage at the decision and says he now expects the same kind of treatment from all the coaches.

“We disagree with the decision, which we find extremely misguided and arbitrary, but we hope they will now adopt the same stance with anyone who commits any kind of action against refereeing. They are using Abel Ferreira’s figure for an extremely arbitrary change,” the director stated.

It should be recalled that Palmeiras appealed Abel Ferreira’s eight=match ban, resulting from his expulsions in matches against Fluminense and Sao Paulo, however, the penalty was slightly reduced.

After already serving three games away from the bench, the Portuguese coach still has four games of suspension ahead of him.
