Lorenzo Buffon, the legendary Italian goalkeeper and great-uncle of Gianluigi, has died.

Great-uncle of another legendary goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, Lorenzo became a historical figure at Milan , a club he represented between 1949 and 1959 and with which he won Serie A five times . He also played for Portogruaro, Genoa , Inter , Fiorentina and Ivrea.

Il Magnifico , as he was known, became an Italian international, representing the Azzurri at the 1962 World Cup in Chile. According to the Italian press, the funeral ceremonies will be private.
