Rossoneri will play in the Europa League, while Fabregas’ team will play in the Champions League for the first time in history.

The final round of the Italian championship did not disappoint, ending with disappointment on one side, while history was made on the other.

Milan lost 2-1 at home to Cagliari on Sunday, dropping to fifth place in the league and thus saying goodbye to the Champions League.

With Rafael Leao on the bench, who would later come on as a substitute, the Rossoneri started better. With a strong start, Saelemaekers put Milan ahead after just two minutes. The problem was that on the other side was a Cagliari team = with Ze Pedro in the starting lineup = capable of responding to adversity.

First, Gennaro Borrelli equalized the match in the 20th minute. Then, in the second half, Juan Rodriguez (57th minute) confirmed the comeback. Trailing in the score, and wanting to secure third place, Milan tried to recover from the disadvantage, but could not avoid the defeat that relegates them to fifth place and, consequently, to the Europa League .

Milan’s team thus joins Juventus, who will also play in the Europa League. In this round, the  Old Lady  let slip a two=goal lead and drew 2-2 away to Torino . Vlahovic stood out by scoring a brace, one of the goals assisted by Francisco Conceicao. Obrador also assisted one of Torino’s goals.

Vlahovic scored the first goal in the 24th minute after a beautiful piece of work inside the opponent’s area. In the second half, Francisco Conceicao found the striker who, with a low, cross=shot, made it 2-0. Torino then chased the score and reduced the deficit in the 60th minute. Obrador, on loan from Benfica, assisted Casadei for the goal. Almost at the end of the match (84th minute), the home team restored parity to the score with a goal from Che Adams.

With this result, Juventus finishes the championship in sixth place, with 69 points. Torino, on the other hand, is 12th, with 45 points.

Taking advantage of Milan’s slip-up was Cesc Fàbregas’ Como. The sensation of the championship beat Cremonese 4-1 , with goals from Jesus Rodriguez (36′), Anastasios Douvikas (51′) and Lucas Da Cunha (74′ and 81′). For Cremonese, Bonazzoli scored in the 55th minute.

With this victory, coupled with Milan’s defeat, Como secures fourth place with 71 points, qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in its history. An impressive season for Fabregas’ men.

In another game that night, Roma also benefited from Milan’s defeat and climbed  to third place  by beating Hellas Verona 2-0 .

The team from the capital only managed to score in the second half, through Malen. The forward missed a penalty in the 56th minute, but managed to convert the rebound. To close out the match, Dybala assisted El Shaarawy (90+3m) for the final 2-0 score.

This time, Roma finishes the Italian championship in third place, with 73 points. Hellas Verona, on the other hand, occupies 19th place, with 21 points, and is relegated to the second division.
