The Dutchman already officiated the Napoli-Sporting match this season, while the Italian was in charge of Benfica’s epic victory against Real Madrid.

Dutchman Danny Makkelie will referee the Nottingham Forest=FC Porto match, the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, while Italian Davide Massa will officiate the Betis-Sporting Braga game, UEFA confirmed on Tuesday morning.

In Nottingham, Makkelie will be assisted by his compatriots Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries, with Allard Lindhout as the fourth official. The video assistant referee (VAR) will be Croatian Ivan Bebek, assisted by Soren Storks.

Makkelie, 43, is officiating a game involving a Portuguese team for the second time this season, following Napoli=Sporting (2-1) in the Champions League group stage on October 1.

In Seville, Massa will be assisted by Filippo Meli and Stefano Alassio. The fourth official is Matteo Marcenaro. The video assistant referee (VAR) will be Daniele Chiffi, assisted by Luca Pairetto.

Massa, 44, already officiated Benfica’s epic 4-2 victory against Real Madrid this season , on January 28th, in the final of the Champions League group stage.

The matches between FC Porto and Sporting Braga are scheduled for 8 pm on Thursday, and both teams have their ties tied 1-1
