A victory over Florentino’s Burnley (3-1) gives Tottenham a 12-point lead, with one game more played in the English League.

Leeds United hosted and beat Burnley 3-1 in a crucial match for their survival hopes, as the home team now have a provisional 12-point lead over Tottenham.

Just eight minutes in, Leeds took the lead thanks to a goal from Stach. This caused Burnley, who had Florentino in their starting eleven, to drop significantly in performance and become vulnerable to their opponents, who had several chances to extend their lead before halftime.

It wasn’t in the first half, it was right at the start of the second. Leeds needed only four minutes to make it a resounding 3-0. Okafor fired into the back of the net in the 52nd minute, and in the 56th minute, Calvert-Lewin returned to scoring form, providing another comfortable lead.

With the former Benfica player on the pitch, Burnley had two good chances to score, but only one of them counted. Lucas Pires put the ball close to the net, but he was offside and the goal was disallowed. Three minutes later, Tchaouna reduced the deficit and gave a glimmer of hope to the visitors, who had long since been condemned to relegation.

This victory allows Leeds to reach 43 points and distance themselves (provisionally) even further from Tottenham, the only club that can still dream of remaining in the top tier of English football.
