Palmeiras, coached by Portuguese manager Abel Ferreira, drew 1-1 away to Remo, second=to=last in the Brasileirao standings, in a match of the 15th round of the main Brazilian championship, on Sunday night.
The home team took the lead after just two minutes through Alef Manga, formerly of UD Oliveirense, but Ramón Sosa equalized for Palmeiras in the 24th minute.
In the second half, the game was marked, above all, by two moments, the first of which was the expulsion of Ze Ricardo in the 74th minute, leaving Remo with ten players on the field.
However, even with a numerical disadvantage, Remo managed to earn a point, although Palmeiras came close to victory. In stoppage time, Bruno Fuchs scored to make it 2-1 in the 90+5th minute, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to a handball by Flaco Lopez before the goal.
With this result, Palmeiras now has 34 points at the top of the table, marking their second consecutive draw and the first time in this 2026 Brasileirao season that they have gone two consecutive rounds without a win. Flamengo (who play Grêmio tonight) could close the gap, as Mengao has 27 points and two games in hand. Remo is 19th in the standings with 12 points.
In another game already concluded this Sunday, a goal by Arthur Cabral secured a draw for Botafogo, coached by Portuguese manager Franclim Carvalho, in their visit to Atlético Mineiro (1-1). The former Benfica player equalized in the 90th minute, after former B SAD player Mateo Cassierra had scored for Atlético Mineiro in the 23rd minute. In the standings, Botafogo has 18 points, currently in 11th place. Atlético Mineiro is 12th and also has 18 points.
