Sporting are eight points behind leaders FC Porto, who have yet to play this matchday.

Sporting thrashed Real Massama (6-0) in the 11th round of the national youth championship qualifying phase. Benfica, meanwhile, lost at home to V. Guimarães (2-0).

Salvador Fortuna (8m), Martim Ribeiro (16m), Mario William (20m), Martim Almeida (56m), Rafael Fial (61m) and Leonardo Damião (63m) scored the goals for the victory.

With this victory (6-0), Sporting provisionally moves up to second place – eight points behind leaders FC Porto, who host Sp. Braga this Sunday (11:00 AM). Real Massama is in 10th and last place with four points.

Benfica lost at home to V. Guimaraes (2-0). Igor Cabral and Lucas scored for the conquerors.

With this victory (2-0), V. Guimaraes overtakes Benfica, taking fourth place with 18 points. Benfica drops to fifth with 17.
