Moments of distress at La Cartuja, but it was just a technical error.

Sp. Braga’s epic victory over Betis (4-2) at La Cartuja was marked by a disconcerting moment near the end of the game when, on three occasions, the stadium’s sound system requested the evacuation of fans. This request left the fans incredulous, many of whom headed for the exit doors, but it was simply a mistake, as the Seville club later explained.

The game was still tense, with Sp. Braga already in the lead, but Betis still believing they could equalize, when the first request to evacuate the stadium was heard, leaving the fans incredulous. This request was repeated once and twice, leading many fans to hurry towards the exit doors before a correction was heard. It turned out to be a mistake, and the fans were asked to remain calm.

Towards the end of the game, Betis explained to journalists that it was a mistake by the coach. The idea was to play a recorded message in Portuguese asking Sp. Braga fans to remain in the stands immediately after the final whistle for safety reasons, but instead of that message, what was heard was the aforementioned message, in Spanish, requesting the evacuation of the stadium.
