Blancos beat Quique Flores’ Alaves 2-1

Real Madrid won, but were booed at the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday. Álvaro Arbeloa’s team beat Quique Flores’ Alaves 2-1 in a relatively comfortable manner, but with some chills at the end.

Real Madrid opened the scoring through captain Kylian Mbappe in the 30th minute. The Frenchman now has 41 goals this season.

However, the best was yet to come. In the second half, at the 50th minute, Vinicius Junior scored a splendid goal with a shot from outside the area, and apologized to the fans for his poor form.

With the result in hand and after several substitutions, Real Madrid let their guard down and even conceded a backheel goal in stoppage time from Toni Martínez, formerly of FC Porto. He has 13 this season.

Barcelona has nine more points than Real Madrid and is close to securing the championship title for the second consecutive year. Real Madrid has 70 points, in second place. Alaves is 17th, one point above the relegation zone.
