Felipe Anderson, who previously played for FC Porto, scored one of Palmeiras’ goals.

With Abel Ferreira back on the bench, Palmeiras comfortably beat Jacuipense, from the Brazilian Serie D, 3-0, in the first leg of the fifth round of the Taca do Brasil.

The Portuguese coach, it should be remembered, is serving a seven=match suspension, which is only valid in the league .

As for last night’s match, it was settled with a brace from Ramon Sosa, who scored from the penalty spot in the 9th and 55th minutes, and a goal from former FC Porto player Felipe Anderson just before halftime.

Jacuipense’s mission became even more difficult after Talisca was sent off in the 37th minute.

In the matches that concluded the first leg of the Brazilian Cup, Atletico Mineiro won 2-1 against Ceara, with Portuguese player Rafael Ramos (who remained on the bench), while Athletico Paranaense=Atletico Goianense and Operario Ferroviario=Fluminense ended in goalless draws.

The second leg of the Taça do Brasil will be played between May 13th and 15th.
