National Junior Championship: Benfica wins and postpones FC …

Benfica hosted and defeated Rio Ave (2-1) this Wednesday, in a match corresponding to the 10th round of the National Junior Championship (Under-19) qualifying phase. Forwards Francisco Silva and Dilan Neves scored the goals for the Eagles, in the 14th and 70th minutes.

Thus, Benfica remains in the fight for the championship title and postponed FC Porto’s celebration, who lead by four points with two rounds remaining. Porto will host Famalicao on Saturday (5 pm). At the same time, Benfica will host União de Leiria.

FC Porto has not won the National Junior Championship since 2019.
