Spanish midfielder analyzes 2-0 victory over Tondela and sets his sights on the second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi=finals.
Gabri Veiga, in a flash interview with SportTV, after FC Porto’s 2-0 victory over Tondela in the 30th round of the League:
Analysis of the victory over Tondela
It was a good start to the game, we changed the rhythm and did what we knew how to do. While it wasn’t a perfect night, we got the most important thing: the three points. There are four finals left and we have to give everything. We are a very strong group, no opponent is easy in this league. Everyone wants to compete and it’s very difficult 11 against 11. We have a lot of confidence in Alan Varela and we know he will score the next penalty.
A personal moment for Gabri Veiga…
I’m the first to demand more from myself; the break and the physical work I did were important. I was out against Famalicão, but I knew this final stretch was going to be very important. I’m in good form and, if it were up to me, I’d play tomorrow.
Outcome of the derby and the Portuguese Cup semi=finals.
I only care about the four games we have left, the game we have for the Portuguese Cup. We have to do our best and I know we deserve to be in the finals. We played against a strong team (Sporting), we started behind on the scoreboard, but with everyone pulling in the same direction, we are one more team. We respect our opponent, but I have a lot of confidence in this group.
