Franclim Carvalho made his debut as head coach of Botafogo on Thursday night (early morning in Portugal), in a 1-1 draw against Venezuelan side Caracas, in a match counting towards the first round of the Copa Sudamericana.
The visiting team even opened the scoring, with a goal from Wilfred Correa in the 43rd minute.
For the second half, Franclim Carvalho brought on former Benfica striker Arthur Cabral, who five minutes later scored the equalizer for Botafogo, making the final score 1-1.
The team managed by the Portuguese coach, former assistant to Artur Jorge, returns to the field to host Coritiba, in the 11th round of the Brasileirao.
