Samu’s season ended on February 9th at the Dragão stadium, in the first half of the league classic against Sporting (1-1). The Spanish forward suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and left the field at halftime. Since then, FC Porto has played 19 games and scored 29 goals, totaling three defeats, four draws, and 12 wins.
In the absence of a striker, William Gomes and Froholdt stood out with five goals each. The Brazilian winger, often a substitute, scored against Arouca, Moreirense, Stuttgart, Sporting Braga, and Nottingham. Froholdt, a regular starter and the league’s best player , scored against Rio Ave, Benfica, Stuttgart, Estoril, and Tondela. Simultaneously, the young Dane provided three assists during that period.
Furthermore, Deniz Gül and Oskar Pietuszewski scored three goals each, followed by Bednarek, Moffi, Seko Fofana and Gabri Veiga (two goals each), and by Rodrigo Mora, Alberto Costa and Pepê , a trio that has scored once since February 9th.
After tallying the goalscoring tally for Porto in 2025/26, Samu finished top with 20 goals, followed by William Gomes (13) and Froholdt (eight). It’s worth noting that the Nordic midfielder accumulated the most games in the squad (51).
FC Porto had not been crowned champions since 2022, and this season they won their 31st title with 88 points .
