Gift Orban, forward and top scorer for Hellas Verona, was involved in clashes outside the stadium after the 1-0 home defeat against Milan .
This event took place in the vicinity of the Marcantonio Bentegodi stadium, where some Hellas Verona fans were waiting for the players to come out so they could take photographs.
Orban wasn’t very enthusiastic and didn’t stop to attend to the fans’ requests, an attitude that led one of them to hit the Nigerian player’s car. The striker didn’t back down and got out of the car to confront the fan, even getting into a physical altercation.
Several fans had to intervene to separate the two men. In the video, recorded on a mobile phone, a female fan can be heard appealing for calm, telling the player that they were there for him.
The Italian club issued an official statement regretting what happened and distancing itself from the player’s actions and the aggression.
This was Verona’s fifth consecutive defeat, leaving them second-to-last in the Italian League and ten points away from safety in the top flight, with five games remaining.
