Mexicans finish with a 7-2 aggregate score against Los Angeles Galaxy.

Toluca secured their place in the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals in the early hours of this morning, after beating Los Angeles Galaxy 3-0 (7-2 on aggregate).

After their 4-2 victory in the first leg, and with Paulinho in the starting eleven, the Mexicans started the game well and were already winning by a single goal after ten minutes, thanks to Gallardo’s accurate shot. This goal was, in fact, the only one in the first half, and Toluca’s dominance justified the difference in the score at halftime.

In the second half, the usual suspect appeared… and in double measure. Paulinho needed only six minutes to score a brace, with two beautiful goals. The first came after a pass from Helinho, and inside the area he fired a low shot into the back of the net.

The second goal, however, is a true work of art, as he had no problem chipping the ball over the goalkeeper and securing Toluca’s passage to the next stage of the competition.

Now, after defeating the Los Angeles Galaxy, Toluca is preparing to face Los Angeles FC, with Porto’s Stephen Eustaquio. The first leg takes place on April 28th in Mexico, while the second leg is scheduled for May 7th in the United States.
