Sporting hosts second=to=last place in the league in a match corresponding to the 26th round.
Now it’s official. Sporting will host Tondela on April 29th for the rescheduled match from the 26th round of the Liga.
As previously announced by the League in a statement , Sporting would host the Beira team on that same date if they were eliminated from the Champions League by Arsenal, which ultimately happened. It should be recalled that Sporting could only manage a goalless draw in the second leg of the quarter-finals this Wednesday, losing 1-0 on aggregate.
At this point, Sporting is five points behind FC Porto, but has a game in hand and could reduce the gap to just two points if the difference remains the same until the day of the match. Tondela is second to last, four points behind Nacional, the first club above the relegation zone.
