2026 World Cup: the 48 qualified teams and the complete groups.

DR Congo and Iraq are the latest teams to secure their place in the World Cup.

The early hours of Wednesday morning marked the end of the group stage and confirmed all 48 teams that will participate in the 2026 World Cup.

By beating Jamaica  (1-0), the Democratic Republic of Congo grabbed one of the last two available spots and became Portugal’s first opponent in the tournament. Minutes later, Iraq prevailed over Bolivia (2-1) and thus joined France, Senegal, and Norway in Group I of the World Cup.

It is well known that the most important national team competition kicks off on June 11th with the match between Mexico and South Africa, with the final scheduled for July 19th at MetLife Stadium. 

Portugal is in Group K and will play against DR Congo (June 17), Uzbekistan (June 23) and Colombia (June 28).
