They are only behind Aston Villa and Freiburg in terms of prize money won in the 2025/26 competition.

Sporting Braga earned a total of €25.568 million for participating in the 2025/26 Europa League. The Minho team ended their European campaign on Thursday night with elimination in the semi=finals against Freiburg.

Having lost the Europa League final in 2010/11 in Dublin to FC Porto (1-0), Sporting Braga were defeated 3-1 in Germany tonight, losing 4-3 on aggregate. They thus missed out on a place in the final, which would have brought in a prize of seven million euros.

In addition to the €4.31 million earned for participating in the league phase, the Minho team added €350,000 this season in the preliminary rounds, where they overcame Bulgarian side Levski Sofia, Romanian side Cluj, and Gibraltarian side Lincoln Red Imps.

In the value pillar , which is linked to the market volume of the respective country and the coefficient of the clubs in the UEFA five= and ten=year ranking for the European and non=European parts, Sporting Braga earned €6.797 million .

In addition to the initial prize money and the pillar value, Sporting Braga earned money for their performance from the league phase onwards, in which they finished sixth, securing direct access to the round of 16, with 17 points after five wins, two draws, and one loss. Each win yielded €450,000 (a total of €2.25 million) , and two draws a total of €300,000 . The ranking, with the remaining draws, allowed for a bonus of €2.511 million (31 installments multiplied by €81,000) . As there were 25 draws in that phase, resulting in a surplus of €3.75 million, each place was worth €81,000 more than the immediately lower position (and not the €75,000 initially set by UEFA).

Sporting Braga also received €600,000 for finishing in the top 8 and €1.75 million for automatic entry into the round of 16. In the knockout stages, they earned €2.5 million for qualifying for the quarter-finals and a further €4.2 million for reaching the semi-finals .

FC Porto, the other Portuguese team in the Europa League, finished with €23.612 million.

In the overall prize money accounting for the 2025/26 Europa League, Sporting Braga was only behind Aston Villa (€35.003 million) and Freiburg (€32.627 million), followed by Nottingham Forest (€24.086 million), Betis (€23.658 million) and FC Porto.
