Bayer Leverkusen beat St. Pauli (3-0) and are the first club to qualify for the semi=finals of the German Cup.

In a duel between teams going through different moments in the German League, the home team proved more effective in the first half and went into halftime winning by the narrowest of margins, thanks to a goal by Martin Terreeer (31 minutes).

This difference remained until halftime, and the second half ended up confirming Leverkusen’s victory, with a much more solid performance from the sixth-placed team in the championship. Patrik Schick (63rd minute) and Hofmann (90+2 minutes) changed the course of the result and propelled the team to the next phase.
