Victories by 3-0 over Rennes and Le Mans, respectively, guarantee passage to the next phase of the competition.

Marseille and Reims secured their places in the French Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday, following 3-0 victories against Rennes and Le Mans, respectively.

At the Vélodrome, the home team started building their victory over their opponent early, with Amine Gouiri scoring in the second minute after an assist from Timothy Weah. This narrow lead held until halftime, and the second half began with another goal for Marseille.

Greenwood responded perfectly to Gouiri’s pass and fired the ball into the back of the net, although he didn’t stop there. The second half was quite balanced, but the efficiency of the third=placed team in the French League proved essential. Aubameyang completed the 3-0 victory that guarantees Marseille’s place in the quarter=finals of the French Cup.

In the other game on Tuesday, the team that plays in the second tier of French football benefited from a brace by Theo Leoni (38th and 71st minutes) and a goal by Yassine Benhattab (84th minute) to get the better of Le Mans.

This Wednesday, Paulo Fonseca’s Lyon hosts Laval, and there are also the following matches: Lorient-Paris FC, Nice=Montpellier, and Toulouse-Amiens.
