Vangelis Pavlidis elected best player of the month in the League.

Vangelis Pavlidis beat Luis Suárez and Rodrigo Zalazar in the voting for best player of the month of December in the Portuguese League. The Greek forward had already won the award for best forward in the same period.

Pavlidis garnered a total of 21.37 percent of the votes from the competition’s head coaches. He beat Luis Suárez (Sporting), with 16.24 percent, and Rodrigo Zalazar (Sp. Braga), who received 9.40 percent of the coaches’ preference.

The Greek player scored four goals and provided one assist in the four matches played in the competition during the evaluation period. Against Moreirense, in a 4-0 victory, he scored a hat-trick.

This is only the second time the Benfica forward has won this award. The other time was in February 2025. He succeeds Francisco Trincão, winner of the November award.
