The president of the Italian League announced the date of the match.

After some back and forth, here’s the official confirmation. On Thursday, before the Napoli=Milan match for the Italian Super Cup semi=finals , the president of the Italian League, Ezio Simonelli, guaranteed that the Milan=Como Serie A match will indeed be played in Perth, Australia.

Simonelli even brought forward the expected date for the game = February 8th. Rafael Leão’s team will face Como de Fàbregas more than 13,000 kilometers away from the San Siro, which in those days will host the opening ceremony of the Milan=Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

We met cordially with Infantino (FIFA president). We had doubts mainly about the referees, but Collina [president of the FIFA Referees Committee] assured me that the Asian referees have the quality profiles to officiate this match. We will accept this condition and then we will define the rest, said Simonelli.

This is a historic game, as it is the first European Championship match to be played on another continent.
