Rui Borges: We should value our football more

Rui Borges, Sporting’s coach, speaking in the press room at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques. When questioned about the current state of Portuguese football, the coach called for it to be valued more.

“I’m not going to elaborate much on this. We should value our football much more. Players, coaches, the refereeing profession as well. And you [journalists] can also help in this regard. If we are valued abroad, we cannot devalue ourselves at home. The assets of football must do more and more to make football better.
