Brahim Diaz and Saibari score for the Moroccan team, which joins Senegal in the next round.

Morocco prevailed over Cameroon and secured their place in the semi=finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).

Just hours after Senegal qualified for the next round, the two teams took to the field at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat, and the crowd played a significant role in Morocco’s performance. Playing at home, the team dominated the entire first half and relatively easily took a 1-0 lead.

Following a set piece, El Kaabi flicked the ball on to the far post, where it was perfectly placed for Morocco’s goal. This lead held until halftime, and the second half brought more balance, but a similar outcome.

This is because, in the 74th minute, the Moroccan team scored their second goal through Ismael Saibari. After receiving a long pass from Aguerd, the PSV midfielder found himself in a good position to finish and gave the goalkeeper no chance. In the stands, the fans went wild, and the Cameroonian team never managed to recover.

This victory confirms half of the teams qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations semi=finals, with the remaining semi=finalists to be decided this Saturday in the following matches: Egypt vs. Ivory Coast and Algeria vs. Nigeria.
