The wife of the Danish midfielder made a point of sharing the image on social media.
Emilie Nissen Hjulmand, the wife of the Sporting midfielder, showed on social media the state of her husband’s right foot following Wednesday’s FC Porto-Sporting match.
It should be recalled that Hjulmand was stepped on by Gabri Veiga just 16 minutes into the match, in a play where no foul was called. He continued playing until the 50th minute, being substituted with visible physical complaints.
The incident prompted Sporting to file a disciplinary complaint with the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation against Gabri Veiga. This is especially significant because Hjulmand’s season is at risk due to the clearly visible injuries to his right ankle.
