Ivan Toney, once involved in a sports betting case, felt threatened by a group of men. The England international was released on bail.

Taking advantage of Al Ahli’s competitive break between November 28th and December 19th, forward Ivan Toney returned to London last week and even spent the early hours of Saturday morning relaxing in a bar. However, he ended up being arrested for assaulting a man who tried to force a selfie.

The information was released by “The Sun” on Monday night, explaining that a group of men approached Ivan Toney and one bolder individual put his hands around the striker’s neck, allegedly to take a photograph. Feeling threatened, the Al Ahli striker headbutted the man, causing him to bleed.

Although Toney was handcuffed and detained preventively = and the victim was taken to the hospital = witnesses do not rule out the possibility that the group of men in question had planned a robbery.

However, Ivan Toney was released on bail, at least until the investigations are concluded. Currently in his second season with Al Ahli, the England international has nine goals and one assist in 18 games, following 30 goals in 44 matches last season. It’s worth remembering that the forward was suspended for eight months in 2023 due to his involvement in sports betting.
