The Norwegian coach had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. He was 72 years old.

Age Hareide, an experienced coach with nearly 40 years of experience who managed the national teams of Norway, Denmark, and Iceland, has died at the age of 72.

The coach succumbed to a malignant brain tumor diagnosed last summer.

In addition to managing the national teams of Norway (2003 to 2008), Denmark (2016 to 2019, including qualification for the 2018 World Cup), and Iceland (2023-2024), Hareide worked at some of the most reputable clubs in Northern Europe, such as Rosenborg, Molde, and Viking (Norway), Malmö (Sweden), and Brondby (Denmark), among others, winning nine national titles in those three countries.

Before that, Age Hareide distinguished himself as a player. He was capped almost 50 times for Norway and wore the shirts of four clubs over nearly 20 years as a footballer: Hodd, where he started his career, Molde, and the English clubs Manchester City and Norwich.
