The Super Eagles will face Roberto Martinez’s team in their final test before the 2026 World Cup.
Nigeria, Portugal’s last opponent in preparation for the 2026 World Cup, beat Zimbabwe 2-0 on Tuesday in a friendly match played in England, in which Porto’s Terem Moffi was in the starting lineup.
The Nigerians, who failed to qualify for the World Cup, had the FC Porto forward, who celebrated his 27th birthday on Monday, in their starting eleven, wearing the captain’s armband. He was substituted in the 66th minute, shortly after the Super Eagles’ second goal.
The two goals of the match were scored by winger Femi Azeez, who plays for English side Millwall, in the fifth and 63rd minutes.
We remind you that Portugal will face Nigeria on June 10th in Leiria, before traveling to the United States, but before that game, on the 6th, the team led by Roberto Martínez will have another test against Chile, in this case, at the National Stadium.
Nigeria, before facing Portugal, will also play Poland on June 3rd.
After traveling to Palm Beach, in Miami, Florida, Portugal will make its debut in Group K of the World Cup against the Democratic Republic of Congo on June 17th in Houston. This will be followed by a match against newcomer Uzbekistan on June 23rd, also in Houston, before concluding the group stage on June 27th against Colombia in Miami.
