Scottish referee Nicholas Walsh has been appointed by UEFA to officiate Sporting’s visit to Bayern Munich next Tuesday, for the sixth round of the Champions League league stage.

The 35-year-old referee will have his compatriots Francis Connor and Daniel McFarlane as assistants, while Donald Robertson will be the fourth official. The VAR for the match will be fellow Scot Andrew Dallas, assisted by Dutchman Rob Dieperink.

With ten points and in eighth place, which guarantees direct qualification for the Champions League round of 16, Sporting plays away against Bayern Munich (third, with 12 points), starting at 5:45 pm on Tuesday.

Among the appointments already known, the presence of João Pinheiro in Belgium stands out, also on Tuesday, to referee the Union Saint-Gilloise-Marseille match (8:00 pm) .

The referee from the Braga FA will be accompanied by assistants Bruno Jesus and Luciano Maia, with Cláudio Pereira acting as the fourth official. Tiago Martins and Fábio Melo have been appointed as VAR and AVAR.
