After qualifying for the Conference League final, Rayo Vallecano returned to the championship with a draw at home against Girona (1-1). In the 35th round, this Monday, the goals came from the substitutes’ bench. First by German striker in the 86th minute for Rayo, then striker Stuani for Girona in the 90th minute.
Thus, Rayo remains in 10th place with 43 points, two points away from the European qualification zone . But only six points above the relegation zone. After four consecutive matches without points, they will visit Valencia (12th) on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Girona continues its fight for survival, remaining in the first place above the relegation zone (17th), with 39 points, two ahead of Alavés (18th). Next up is a home game against Real Sociedad (8th), also on Thursday.
This result also meant that Oviedo, with David Carmo in the team, was relegated from the bottom of the Spanish League to the second division.
