Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro has been appointed by UEFA to officiate the second leg of the Champions League semi=final between Bayern Munich and PSG.

The referee from the Braga Football Association will have his compatriots Bruno Jesus and Luciano Maia as assistants, while the Norwegian Espen Eskas will be the fourth official. The Italian Marco Di Bello will be in charge of VAR, while the Portuguese Tiago Martins will act as AVAR.

After the 5-4 defeat at the Parc des Princes, Bayern and PSG face each other this Wednesday (8:00 pm) in Munich.

Last week, João Pinheiro had already officiated another European semi=final, this time in the Europa League, Nottingham Forest=Aston Villa, where Bruno Jesus and Luciano Maia, who will accompany him to the 2026 World Cup, also played.
