In their away match against Girona, the visitors had the upper hand in the first half and managed to take the lead just before halftime. A pinpoint cross to the far post allowed the Portuguese international to find himself unmarked and head the ball into the back of the net
This advantage held until the final whistle, and the fact is that the second half showed a different side for the Catalan team. The substitutions did the home side good, as they were looking to put an end to their run of two consecutive defeats, but without success.
The victory allows Mallorca to reach the same 38 points as their opponent this Friday and move away (for now) from the relegation battle.
