The coach says the team hasn’t always played the way he would have liked.

Gil Lameiras, Vitoria de Guimaraes coach, in the press room at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques, after the victory (2-0) over Rio Ave. The coach does not set any goals for the final stretch of the League:

Game analysis

We must value the victory, two goals scored, zero conceded. A great credit to the players; we didn’t always do what we would have liked to do in terms of the game plan. When we managed to do what we trained, the balls went in, we created danger for our opponent, and we progressed. There are games like that; we won’t always play as well as we’d like. Today was one of those days, and we must value the victory.

Players who came off the bench and were decisive

This has to be the spirit. Regardless of who goes in there, we are representing Vit0ria, a family, whether we play for a minute or not, this has to be the spirit, always giving our best for the greater good.

End of championship

Rest, enjoy the victories that are hard to achieve. Look at each training session and each game as the most important. There’s no point in looking too far ahead. We know where we want to go, but we think game by game and training session by training session to finish the season in the best way possible.
