Ema Gonçalves, captain of FC Porto’s women’s team, fractured the fibula in her right leg and successfully underwent surgery, the club announced this Thursday.

The operation went smoothly, as planned, and the captain will now begin the recovery process under the care of FC Porto’s health department, reads a statement from the club.

The 24-year-old full=back, however, received a visit from her teammates.
