Estoril’s coach did not hide his frustration with the first half against FC Porto.

Ian Cathro spoke to Sport TV after Estoril’s defeat against FC Porto (3-1) in the 29th round of the League.

Above all, perhaps we can look at the two sides differently. The Estoril coach failed today and perhaps he needs to abandon some principles even in the first half. He should have stopped the game and made adjustments. I’m learning. We had difficulties controlling FC Porto’s play in the wide areas. He should have sent the goalkeeper to the ground and called a time=out. I leave frustrated; we feel we could have done more.

In the last two games, all our central defenders played injured. And we have another one playing out of position. The players don’t deserve these results.

In the coming weeks, the team will continue to fight and we will begin preparing for next season. We are aware of our objectives.
