Nico Panduru heaped praise on the Portuguese coach, comparing his situation to Arne Slot’s post-Klopp relationship.

Nico Panduru, former player for FC Porto and Benfica, praised Filipe Coelho’s work as manager of Universitatea Craiova.

In statements to the Romanian press, he considers the Portuguese coach’s team impressive, revealing himself to be a fan of his work.

He comes here and impresses. I really like the work he’s doing,” he began by saying.

Regarding Filipe Coelho’s arrival, the former midfielder compares the situation to Arne Slot’s arrival after Klopp left Liverpool.

“It’s like Arne Slot’s arrival at Liverpool after Klopp left. At other clubs, they spent 500 million and it all came to nothing. Here, he arrived at a team that was healthy and training properly; only the recent results hadn’t been the best. He’s a man who had no idea what Romania was like. He worked for a long time with Paulo Bento in the National Team and didn’t know our reality. He arrives here and impresses. I really like the work he’s doing, he added.

On Monday, Universitatea Craiova’s 2-0 victory over CFR Cluj earned praise from Nico Panduru.

Craiova may not have played their best game, but looking at the match, you can see some tactical dynamics: through passes, runs down the right flank that cut inside onto the left, and fast players ready to develop the attack. You can see the work being done in this Craiova team, he concluded.

Filipe Coelho’s team, it should be remembered, occupies fourth place in the Romanian championship, with 53 points.
