After seven games without a win

Dorival Júnior is no longer the coach of Corinthians. The club confirmed the departure of the 63-year-old coach in the early hours of Monday morning, shortly after the 1-0 home defeat against Internacional, in a match of the 10th round of the Brazilian Championship.

“Sport Club Corinthians Paulista announces the departure of coach Dorival Júnior and his coaching staff. The club thanks the professionals for their services, marked by important achievements at the helm of the team, such as the 2025 Copa do Brasil and the 2026 Supercopa Rei, results that will remain in the institution’s history. Corinthians wishes them success in the continuation of their professional careers and informs that training this Monday (6) will be led by William Batista, coach of the under-20 team,” the club said in a statement.

The former Brazilian national team coach took over the job at Corinthians  almost a year ago, finishing 13th in the Brasileirão in 2025, but winning the Paulistao  as well as the Taça do Brasil.

This season, Corinthians has gone seven games without a win and is 16th in the standings with ten points, two points ahead of the relegation zone, where Chapecoense currently sits in 17th place with eight points and one game in hand.
