A great moment after Bodo/Glimt’s historic 5-0 defeat at Alvalade, which qualified Sporting for the Champions League quarter-finals: with the pitch completely empty, many minutes after the end of the match, coach Kjetil Knutsen returned to the field to applaud the more than 2,500 fans who travelled from Bodo.

At that moment, an intense sense of camaraderie arose. For a long time, the fans responded with a huge ovation towards the coach. Despite the disappointment of elimination, at a time when they believed they would make it into the top eight in Europe, the Bodo/Glimt fans haven’t forgotten those who gave them everything. Kjetil Knutsen, it should be remembered, took a club that was fighting to avoid relegation and made it rise not one, but several levels: he won the league title four times, reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, achieved great victories in the Champions League and led Bodo/Glimt to achieve what no other Norwegian team, not even the biggest teams in the capital, have managed.
