Santos striker commented on Carlo Ancelotti’s call=up after scoring a penalty in the Kings League.

Neymar expressed his disappointment and sadness at being left out of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for Brazil’s upcoming matches, but insists he will remain focused on fighting for a spot in the 2026 World Cup finals.

The Santos forward expressed his sadness, but minutes earlier, he was celebrating a penalty he scored in the Kings League in São Paulo.

I’m going to speak up because I can’t let this go unaddressed. Obviously, I’m upset and sad that I wasn’t called up. But the focus remains, day after day, training after training, game after game. The focus continues. We will achieve our goal. There’s still the final squad announcement,” highlighted the forward who, the day before, had played for Santos.

Ancelotti has repeatedly said that he counts on Neymar if the forward is at one hundred percent, but the truth is that there is only one more squad selection before the final tournament and the forward continues to be left out of the Italian coach’s options.

Until May 19th, the day of the final squad announcement, Neymar will have played ten games in the Brasileirão, two in the Taça do Brasil, and another four in the Copa Sudamericana. Sixteen games to try and convince Ancelotti, although in 2026 he only participated in four games and scored two goals.
