The Italian tennis player defeated the Russian in two sets decided in a tie-break.

Jannik Sinner won the Indian Wells Masters 1000, beating Daniil Medvedev in the final.

The Italian tennis player beat the Russian, who the day before had become the first to defeat Carlos Alcaraz in 2026, in two sets, both decided in a tie-break.

In the first match, they won 8-6, and in the second, after losing the first four points, they won the next seven and closed the match 7-4.

Sinner, 24, thus won his 25th ATP title and his first in Indian Wells, as well as his first this season, after a somewhat difficult start to the year, marked especially by his defeat in the Australian Open semi=final against Novak Djokovic.
