League: Suárez catches up with Pavlidis at the top of the goal scor..

Vangelis Pavlidis failed to score in Benfica’s home game against bottom-placed AVS , and was overtaken by Luis Suárez, who sealed Sporting’s 3-0 victory away to Moreirense , topping the list of  top scorers in the league .

This is one of the main highlights of this weekend’s league goalscoring charts. The other is Yanis Begraoui’s sixth game scoring two or more goals in a single match this season.

The Estoril forward scored twice in the 3-1 victory against Gil Vicente , reaching 17 goals in the competition, and is now three behind the leading duo in the race for the top scorer award.

Of the top 10, four more players managed to score in the 24th round. They were Ricardo Horta and Rodrigo Zalazar, from Sp. Braga, Alfonso Trezza, from Arouca, and Marezi, from Alverca.
